Mapping bivariate relationships with R

In this post we document the process of making a bivariate map of two (continuous) variables. In particular, we develop a three-by-three bivariate map of the relationship between median income in Belgium and the incidence of social vulnerability, operationalized as the number of persons entitled to a living wage. We use the biscale package to implement bivariate mapping with R.
