My name is Johan Blomme and I am an educational scientist and data analyst. I studied sociology and worked in academia (doing research and teaching) and the media and distribution industry as a circulation and BI manager, before moving into data analysis as an independent consultant.

I have more than 35 years experience in both traditional research technology and machine learning techniques. I have written tutorials and papers about relational database marketing systems, the marketing research process, the evolution of information technology and data analysis, knowledge discovery in databases and trends in business intelligence.

In my research, I use data and software from multiple sources.

Currently, I am mainly an R user with a lot of interest in spatial data analysis and text mining.
